It has been reported that Apple has set the stage to take over Hewlitt Packard’s title as the world’s largest PC producer as early as next year in 2012. This takes into account the rising popularity of Apple’s popular iPhone, iPad, as well as their laptop and desktop devices. Admitedly, they are set to be the biggest only if you can consider the iPad as its own version of a PC.
Apple’s success in the tablet market has never been better. Other companies have tried to produce the same results, even before the iPad was released, however, it’s Apple’s iOS hardware, which was first introduced with the release of the original iPhone that has sparked the tablet PC’s success around the world. It’s because of this success, the marketing research firm, Canalys has predicted that by Q4, both Apple and Hewlitt Packard will be running neck and neck for the lead in producers of PCs.
However, Canalys also predicts that in order for Apple to take the threshold completely away, we will have to wait for the release of the iPad 3, which hasn’t been revealed, nor is there any speculation on an anticipated release date.
Only time will tell where we will see these predictions come to pass, but if I’m a betting man, and given Apple’s track record for the past 5 years, I’m willing to bet that Apple will lead the pack without any signficant trouble. There are many reviews on how the Apple operating software works, and most users who make the conversion from Windows to Mac are finding that the interface is actually easier to operate and maintain than most Windows software, which is what Hewlitt Packard deploys on their machines.
