The Silicon Valley computing giant announced that will start accepting public beta applications for a select few developers and public persons to test drive and make recommendation changes to the PC’s operating system.

Windows 8 appears that it will take on much of Apple’s Lion OS in the aspect that it will be App driven.  Matter of fact, Windows has a contest out now that is soliciting for developer’s creation of these applications in an effort to award that lucky developer with his/her app being included in the final release of the operating system, whose launch date for the public has not been announced.

Checking on Windows official website, there are no mentions of features and new interface changes that are expected to be delivered during the beta release, as well as some hints on what new users can expect.  However, it appears that customers will be able to purchase applications for the Windows 8 PC via the Web Store.

There has been a gap that’s been growing larger and larger between Windows dominance of the home computing market as Apple’s interface and operating system have been proven milestones in ease of home computing and OS stability.  However, Windows hopes that it’s latest release will bridge that gap and bring Windows PC users closer to what is now becoming an industry standard.
